Rise of The Runelords 1 - Burnt Offerings

'I most certainly do.' He gently picks up the sword and turns it in his hands, studying it from every angle. 'Good quality,' he mutters. 'A minor enchantment. Signs of wear. You've used this in combat, I see. I'll buy it for... 80 gold? A fair price, if I say so myself.'

Jack winces. "Fine, no point in carrying it around anyway."

'We have a deal, then!' He hands you 80 gold and wraps the sword in a piece of plain cloth. 'Can I help you with anything else?'

Jack flips Shara 5 gold.

"Thanks." Shara smiles at Jack.

She then looks at the shopkeeper. "Now we're at it, i'd like to sell a couple of items as well. I've got both a robe and my old staff, What do you say?"

The man inspects both items, murmuring to himself. After a while, he nods. 'I'll give you 160 gold pieces for both. Deal?'

"Sure, that sounds fair. Maybe i'll take a healing potion too."

Shara hands the merchant 50 gold.

He fetches another potion, and you exchange money.

Shathys empties his satchel on the desk, setting out some bits and pieces to be sold. "How much could I get for these?"

The red-haired man picks up a few rough gemstones, bent coins and shiny things. 'I'll give you... 110 gold pieces.'

Shathys considers this for a moment, "I'll take two health potions. Do you by any chance have a silver ring?"

He produces another pair of healing potions and gives Shathys 10 gold. 'A silver ring? I certainly do, and in many different designs! Are you looking for anything in specific?'

Spoiler:

"I would like a ring with a raven on it, if you don't have one, a plain ring will do."

The man opens a wooden box filled with a wide assortment of rings. He picks out an intricate one with the silhouette of a raven on it. 'How's this?' he asks and shows it to Shathys.

Shathys' eyes grow bright. "Perfect, how much is that?"

'Two silver pieces,' he says.

Shathys hands the man a gold piece. "Keep it, thank you for your assistance."

The man bows. 'It has been my pleasure. Should you ever need to acquire - or sell - a magical item, you know where to find me!'

"I will be back for new shoes, that is a promise!" Shara smiles. She always enjoys it when the villagers are nice to her, as this is VERY different from her upbringing in Chelaxian.

'I look forward to it, miss.'

"So do I"

You exit The Feathered Serpent. The sun is slowly rising over the horizon, but the rain is still pouring down.

"I don't suppose any of you know the way to thistletop? no? We'll have to get a map or directions." Jack heads towards the nearest store that might have a map.

Shara follows as this seems to be the most logical thing to do.

Shathys follows, grumbling, "my head hurts."
