Rise of The Runelords 1 - Burnt Offerings

"Believe me, I'm trying" Shara says grumpily.

Morbus hurries shortly away from the combat, which makes him able to charge one of the goblins. His heavy, grey body makes everything in the room shake in half a second as he tornadoes against the goblin throwing with javelins against Jack Steele. Jack Steele, a person Morbus doesn't really like. However, he seems to be tactically clever and a loyal member of their group. Jack Steele's death will be over Morbus' dead body! Morbus' sword flying in the air, he misses the goblin as he fails to force the blade directly into the goblin's stomach. However, instant powers runs into Morbus' body. In far lesser than a second he slashes the blade once again and hits the goblin in the shoulder. In a last furious attempt to kill the goblin, he forces a powerful scream out of his body making a wall of violent noise around him and pushing his opponents away from him.

"I grow tired of this." Shathys Growls from the darkness, running forward with his spiked chain lashing out viciously, striking the Goblin between Jack and Shara, Spiked Chain landing solidly between the creatures shoulder blades and protruding from the other side before being ripped out viciously and swung towards the Goblin at the far end of the room, grazing past it's shoulder.

Shathys roars: "Mishka, kill!"

Mishka, hearing the voice of one of the party charges viciously at the remaining goblin, pouncing on it viciously, tearing chunks out of the Goblin's arms as it tries to defend before securing a tight grip around its neck and tearing its throat out with a feral growl.

"Man, i've really been a huge help this time, huh?" Shara says, followed by a short laugh. She turns to the remaining enemy and starts to charge yet another chaos bolt. "By the gods, if it doesn't work this time" she mumbles.

Spoiler:

"OH MY LORD" Shara looks angrier than you have ever seen her before as this chaos bolt flies straight into the ground before her.

Jack looks as if he's gonna comment on Shara's failure but he decides otherwise.
He jumps back quickly and bellows something unintelligible at the dog.

Spoiler:

The dog shakes its head in confusion, but quickly leaps to attack Jack again. Despite its obvious disorientation, the ferocity of its attack breaks through Jack's defenses, bringing him to the edge of falling.

"Ploughing dog!" Jack yells. "Kill it already, damn it!"

"You stay away from Jack Steele!", Morbus thunders as he steps away from the goblin dog and in the next second charges at full speed against it, forcing the blade of his sword into the side of the dog. The dog shouts in great pain and big juices of red and green intestines are spread around. They more or less cover the entire floor under it. Even though the dog is in a lot of pain it clearly isn't dead yet.

Shathys walks forward slowly, then grabbing the Dog by its neck, picks it up and almost casually slits its throat slowly, a vicious smile betraying his calm demeanor.

Spoiler:

"I'm just gonna sit down for a bit." He drops down on a bed.

Shara growls.

The last dog slumps to the ground, dead, and suddenly nothing's trying to stab or bite you. Jack is covered in his own blood, and Shathys is covered in the blood of the five enemies he killed. Shara and Morbus both look relatively untouched.

Spoiler:

"That was entertaining!" Shathys says with a friendly smile on his face, patting Jack on the shoulder.

"Why are we here again...? Ah! Ameiko, yes. Hm...Where to now cap'n?" Shathys looks expectantly at Jack.

Jack puts the last bandage on his leg, cracks his neck and knuckles and stands up. "Further into the factory, also loot the bodies, we might be lucky." Jack eyes the warforged "You were pretty useful there, not bad."

"Nicely fought you guys! Jack Steele you were like a punchball protecting us - and a very effective one. Shathys, nice killed - those goblin just died in front of you! And Shara... well, we all have our bad days. You will get your kills eventually. Wow, it has been such a long time since the last time I was in a fight like this. It actually feels good to be back on track or so to speak. So what do we do now?" Morbus says while he examines his body, making sure he actually wasn't hit by anything.

Shara looks at the warforged with eyes that could almost kill. "The THING about chaos, is that it is pretty chaotic. I don't always have full control. THANK YOU."

Osmus crawls out from somewhere and turns to the group. "If you say any more she might kill you." He says. If dragonlings could smile, this one probably would right now.

"I'm sorry, Shara, don't take it personal. No heart feelings or anything. I just wanted to cheer you up. Any way, are you ready to find out what's next to this room? We better not hide our weapons too far away right now." Morbus says, trying to sound as friendly as possible to Shara. He is, however, very surprised of the almost always happy woman who all of a sudden is being so angry.

There are two exits from the room: The way you came, and a door at the far end of the room.

Jack sighs and quickly checks the bodies and room for loot.

The goblin blackblade appears to be carrying a pack of some of the tribe's supplies, and within are two potions of healing and 220 gold pieces.

Spoiler:

"Yeah, I'm keeping one of these potions. 55 gold pieces for each of us."
Jack approaches the door leading further into the factory, trying to pick up any sounds from within.
